The project is inside a five storey Victorian terraced house, located in a conservation area near Notting Hill.
The existing house contains a total of four flats. The owner of the top flat acquired the flat directly beath on the second floor. The brief includes a full refurbishment of the newly acquired flat and reconfiguration of the flats to provide the owner additional space to accommodate the increased necessity to work from home, whilst maintaining the newly acquire flat as a one-bedroom property for rental.
The proposal is to reconfigure the second floor flat and join the larger rear room with the top floor flat to provide the required extra space, while making better use of the split levels and maintain the lower flat as a viable independent unit.
The project was completed in the autumn of 2021 in collaboration with Silo Architecture Ltd.
